Launched in September 2017, AfrAsia Foundation acts as the social arm of AfrAsia Bank and its subsidiaries. Our vision of Shaping A World of Difference is translated through projects in 3 main pillars; Education, Health and Environment to help build thriving communities and create an impact in the Mauritian Society.
In line with AfrAsia Bank’s Sustainability Strategy, the Foundation has adapted the integrated approach of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
Our Main Project: AfrAsia School
AfrAsia School is a key project, which aligns with the Educational Programme of AfrAsia Foundation and represents a milestone in the history of AfrAsia Bank demonstrating its commitment to social causes to help bringing the underprivileged and vulnerable children to the mainstream of education.
A whole school approach concept and a tailor-made Lifelong Learning Programme has been designed in partnership with the NGO Ti Rayons Soleil and targets children as well as their parents or responsible parties. The center consists of a Pre-primary school and an Afterschool programme based on the Mauritian Curriculum, the Montessori Approach and other holistic methodologies as well as a Parent Empowerment Support Programme.
By following the Sustainable Development Goals, the Lifelong Learning Programme of AfrAsia School has proven to be effective on an international level, where a fund of MUR 4 Millions was allocated from the Decentralised Corporation Programme of the European Union.
