Douglas Kativu heads GRI Africa, the entity responsible for advancing GRI’s mission in target markets within sub-Saharan Africa namely Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Mauritius. Before taking up the substantive position within the organization, Douglas served on the GRI Stakeholder Council for 5 years. Douglas has more than 15 years’ experience implementing accountability and transparency interventions in Africa. Prior to joining GRI, he served in senior management roles at the African Institute of Corporate Citizenship, Indalo Yethu and Environment Africa. He was a member of the ISO 26000 Social Responsibility guidance standard international expert group, Air Pollution Information Network Africa (APINA) Country representative, Agribusiness Accountability Initiative Africa Forum committee, and a Juror on SEED action on sustainable development and green economy. Douglas holds tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management and Applied Physics.
