Nkiruka Chiemelu is part of Global Operations team at the UN Global Compact Office. She serves as the liaison between the Global Compact Office and Local Networks based in the Africa region. In addition, she works with the global system of 70+ Local Networks to support local programmatic capacity building and development, engaging the 10,000+ companies, SMEs and other stakeholders in the Global Compact to advance principles on human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption; and scale up successful local initiatives.
Prior to joining the UN Global Compact, Nkiruka has worked in a variety of fields involving business development and market entry in sub-Saharan Africa, as a business development associate for a start-up impact investment firm in Lagos, Nigeria, and later as a Market Entry and Strategy Consultant for BAE Systems Inc, one of the largest research and intelligence firms in the world. Nkiruka has also had extensive experience working in China in market research and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese.
